Murtle Lake

• from Blue River, take the Murtle Lake Forest Service Road to the trailhead
• portage to the lake and paddle North America’s largest non-motorized lake

Adams Lake

• there are a number of campsites around the lake that can be used as a launch spot or part of a point-to-point tour of the lake
• there are two marine-access only campsites too – Spillman Beaches and Poplar Point

Shuswap Lake

• kayak camping should be planned for the off-season only since the lake is too busy with power boats and houseboats in the main season
• there are a number of marine sites along the arms of the lake – Shuswap Marine Campsites

 

Mahood Lake

• the lake is 21 km long and there are 3 campsites, all on the east end of the lake

North Thompson River

• experienced paddlers can journey from Clearwater to Kamloops in 3 days, with camps at islands in the river along the way
• in freshet there are a number of rapids and other hazards, but later in the season, the only challenge is the Heffley Rapids
